Restoring settings in word

I am having trouble with my margin settings when opening a word blank
document. How can I restore to original word, format (margins etc.)blank
document. The whole normal.dot is a pain and I don't even know how the whole
thing reset itself.

This question would be better asked in a Word newsgroup. This newsgroup is
for Microsoft Access, a relational database program. The web site may have
misdirected you to this group.
I can tell you that if you delete Normal.dot the system will create a new
one with the default settings when you restart your computer. Word
documents are based on templates. The default template is Normal.dot. You
can choose another default template, but you will need to work with
templates in any case.
When you repost the question, be as specific as you can about what exactly
is happening that you wish to change.
