restoring outlook data

Old computer running Outlook failed. I added old hard drive as secondary to
new computer and installed Office with outlook. This site had suggestions for
restoring the outlook data by finding PST file on old drive. I go where the
instuctions say, but there is no PST file, only an NV ? Surely the data is
still somewhere on the old drive. I've run a wildcard PST exten. search, but
nothing shows up on any drive. Help. I need to find that data. Thanks
