I was installing ASP NET resource kit and had an Installer fault. After that the IE does not recognize file types and can´t open them. Is there any reg file that recover the original (default) assignments ? I run IE 6 Service Pack 1 again but the problem persist. I also try Control Panel Folder options.
Thanks very much. Roberto

Try the easy thing first. Go into IE/Tools/Internet Options/
Programs and click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Check
the bottom box as well. Close and restart IE.

The easy way didn´t work.
I didn´t make a metabase backup because I know little about it.
Thanks.

Hi

Try to repair IE and see if it helps...

Relevant for Windows 200 as well:

The issue here is two unrelated things. You tried installing ASP.NET which requiers IIS to be installed and working to get any benefit out of doing that. I assumed probably wrongly that you were talking about your configuration namely your mappings in IIS. Hence I asked you about a backup to your metabase.

But looking through your op again I see that maybe you are talking about Internet Explorer and it not recognizing jpg gif or html files which IE can be used to open files of that type. If this is the case then Torgeir's suggestion is probably what you want.

But I do not think ASP.NET (.NET Framework) has any relation to this issue.
