restoring data after safe mode usage

I've lost my outlook 2003 data, and suspect it may be due to user-initiated
start mode and then restoring to normal in order to run a virus scan. How
can I restore the original data (it was not backed up)?
 
search for file(s) with a .pst extension. If they exist, you can open them
via File | Open and copy your data to the new PST. Yo can also import from
them or set eh old PST as default. Note you might have an archived PST file.
