restoring .bkf

Hello everyone,

I've been using Windows XP automatic back up utility to backup files in
my hard drive in an external hard drive daily. I have a file that
needs to be restored, I've created a folder on desktop and used the
restore wizard to restore everything in .bkf. I see the hierarchy of
all the folders but most of the folders are just empty!!!
Can anyone tell me what went wrong or the magic trick to get my files
back?
Thank you so much in advance,
Seung

Perhaps your backup job was flawed and you never backed
up most of your files. Did you ever test it? Have a look at the
size of the .bkf file, then compare it with the amount of data
you think you backed up. Is it more or less the same? If it
is much less then the .bkf file does not contain your data.

I ran into this problem some time ago. I don't think that NTBACKUP will
write to an external drive. I don't know. I just went to the big box
store
and purchased Drive Image 7. Yes, this was a while ago. There are many
back up options that are just as good.
