Hi, my system has been a little sluggish so I thought
that I would restore it to an earlier point. After
completing the restore routine and the after the system
restarted, I was advised that Restore was not completed
and that I should try restoring a different point. I
tried about a dozen other Restore points and received the
same message (Restore was not cpomplete - try another
Restore point) each time. Apparently the Restore
Function is not functioning and would appreciate help.
Thank you, Bob

You can turn it off from Control Panel > System > and then
re-boot and it will purge it's file. Then re-boot, turn it
back on.
And try this if the above does not work.

1. Put the in the Windows XP CD
2. Click Start , Run
3. Type the following then OK

rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection
C:\Windows\Inf\sr.inf

You can also open Windows Explorer, go to
C:\Windows\Inf folder and right-click sr.inf (Then Install)

Thank you for your help Willit, I turned off Restore,
rebooted my system and then turned Restore back on and
rebooted again. And to test matters, I Restored the pomit
("image") successfully, so I thought that I was OK.
The reason that I am posting again is that a little while
ago (which is a couple of days later), I tried to Restore
a Restore point and after the system restarted, I was
advised that the Restore was unsuccessful. I tried a few
more restore points and again was advised that the
Restore was unsuccessful. So as a last resort, I tried to
restore the initial Restore point (that I successfully
Restored a few days ago) and was advised that the
Restrore was unsuccessful. I am very concerned since I
thought that this Restrore point was good and it looks
like I do not have a lifejacket. Thanks, Bob
