You can reset that worksheet menubar by:

Tools|customize|toolbars tab
select worksheet menubar
click the reset button.

Do you still have tools|customize available???

The reset under Tools|customize|Options tab is to reset the useage stats. If
you have "always show full menus" checked, then this won't do much.

But if you turn that "always show full menus" toggled off, xl will reset its
stats. It uses this to determine which menu items should be shown.

(Personally, I find this option irritating and always show full menus.)

The reset button on that Tools|customize|Toolbars tab actually resets the chosen
toolbar to factory defaults.

-reset is under options.

Not in any version of Excel I ever used or currently use(97,2002 and 2003)

Perhaps you are looking at "reset my usage data" which is not what Dave
directed you to.
