Restore Task input panel

I removed the Task Input Panel by mistake and cannot figure out how to get it
back. I hate doing "Task, New" and would really like that quick entry point
back. Does anyone know how to do that?

Which version of Outlook are you using? Do you mean the TaskPad in the
Calendar of Outlook 2003 and previous?

I am using Outlook 2003.

I mean the bar that says "Click here to add a new Task" just under the
column headers and above the first task in the list. You can just start
typing there to quickly add a task w/out going to "New".

Aha, that is the "New item row";
Select you Tasks folder-> View-> Arrange By-> Custom...-> button Other
Settings...-> enable: Show "new item" row
