I look in my system restore and there must be 50 or more restore points.
These must take up space and since my system is running like it should, can
the restore points of long ago be deleted?
Thanks Alec

Hi Alec,
It's hard for me to determine if you're asking a question about safe
computing and data security, or if you're asking about if the possibility
exists to delete old restore points. I'll try to answer both at once. Yes.
If you're computer is running fine, now's the time to do the house cleaning.
Go to my computer > right click on the C: drive > select properties > press
Disk Cleanup button > Select more options tab > Press the bottom Clean up
button next to System Restore. Have Fun!

Good Luck!

You Cannot delete specific restore points...............you can only delete
them all except the last one.
Right click your drive chose properties/Disk Cleaup......more
options..........System Restore
You can control how many restore points by allocating less space for system
restore files
right click MyComputer/properties/system restore......click a drive and then
settings....adjust away

Hi Alec,

Reducing the amount of space (or store size) System restore uses will
purge *ONLY* the oldest restore points on a FIFO (first in first out)
bases and leave as many recent restore points as the new size will
allow.
How to Adjust the amount of disk space System Restore uses

I would suggest sizing it to just under 1GB.

Data drive (other than C:\) can also be disabled to save disk space.
There's a good chance SR isn't monitoring them anyway.
