restore network connections at logon

Hi,

Using WinXP Pro on a new Dell Inspiron 5150 and am having a problem
reconnecting to network shares (on dedicated peer-peer server) at logon. I
have mapped the drives and requested they be reconnected at logon, but all
show up as disconnected (red x) in Explorer once the system boots up. The
shares are available and are restored immediately if you click on them, but
I would prefer the connections be recognized without this extra step.

In Win98, you could specify Network Logon Options under the Client for MS
Networks Properties, with choices of 'Quick Logon' (drives not connected
until use) or 'Logon and restore network connections' (verify each network
drive is ready to use). I'm looking for an XP equivalent to verify each
network drive is ready to use.

Thanks!

Try this: create a .BAT file with a NET USE command for each mapped
drive, then create a link to that .BAT file in your Startup folder.
Something like:

Try Net use /? to decide which switches you need for your XP PC.
