I believe that somehow the keyboard shortcuts have been changed, and I'd like
to simply restore the defaults.

For example. CTR+Q will shut down the program I'm working in, but that
doesn't happen on any other computer I'm on.

Windows XP

Not all programs follow that convention. My email client, Thunderbird,
will close with Ctrl-Q, but no other programs I have will. Alt-F4 will
close most.

The problem isn't that I want CTRL-Q to close things, I DON'T want it to
close things.. and according to the <a

CTRL-Q isn't supposed to do anything.

Like I said, it's up to the program. Hardly any use Ctrl-Q to close any
longer, but even I have one program that does. You can't remove that
from a programs code. It most likely doesn't close every program you
use unless you are running very old programs (it was a standard in the
MS-DOS days that continued in early Windows releases but was later
dropped for a common UI standard).
