Restore Default Icons in Vista

Is there any way to restore the original desktop icons in Vista? Mine were
somehow changed and I just want to get them back to normal. They no longer
pop out when you scroll over them and some of them are smaller and have boxes
around them and a blue arrow in the bottom left corner. Any suggestions
would be appreciated. I don't wat to restore the system to a previous date
because I have downloaded things that I do not want to lose by doing that.
Thanks in advance!

Right-click in any empty area on the desk-top and select `Personalise`.In
the new window that appears, select `Theme`.In the dialog box, select `Windows
Vista` from the drop-down menu.Click on `Apply` and then `OK`.You would
probably want to save your current theme before doing this, using the `Save
As` button available in the dialog box.

I tried this and it did not work. The icons stayed as they were. Any more
suggestions?

I have tried all of the different looks and none of them are the way that
they were. Any more suggestions?
