restore an admin account

John

While trying to secure my system (Windows XP Prof), I
accidentally disable the default administrator account, and
leave no account with administrator account privilege. Now
I have no way of creating an admin account to manage my
system anymore, and no one can log in as admin. It is like
a dead box now since I can add/remove/modify any softwares.
I am thinking of reformat and reload my apps again. However
my most concern is the reinstallation of third party
software. Most of these apps are installed on different drive.

Anyone has any idea or a way that I may not need to
reinstall the os, if i have to reinstall the os, what I
should backup so that I can restore all dlls of the third
party softwares?

Thanks in advance

Log in with default admin account in a safe mode boot
and undo the disable. While you are at it you probably
should make sure you have an alternate admin account.
