Restore _Hidden column

I am not sure if I am posting in the right place , but here goes.
We are using Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WSS 3.0) and I as I was
attempting to modify the Site Directory in order to add some metadata (a
column) to categorize sites by their business area, I inadvertently deleted
the "Title" column from the Site Directory. I have spent the day looking for
posts on this, but nothing dealt with my issue.
How do I go about restoring this column?
