Restarts unexpectedly while running games or Scandisk

Recently a problem has occured when I was trying to run Warcraft 3. My
computer would unexpectedly restart (and take longer then usual).

I updated all my drivers although knowing that I had actually played this
game 2 days before without these issues.

I then attempted to run Scandisk and the same problem occured each time in
betweem steps 4-5 (scanning files / verifying files). The restart occured and
this time went into a restart loop until I cut the power (it would restart,
load for 10~15 seconds then restart again). Upon turning on my computer it
loaded normally aside from this problem still being persistant.

At this point I'm was troubled it was a virus of some sorts however Norton
did not pick up anything after I scanned my computer.

The restart begins by having my monitor shut off (little green light goes
yellow, screen goes black) yet my sound will persist for 5-10 seconds before
it cuts out and the restart begins.

My last resort selfhelp solution was to reformat but my windows disks seem
to be mia and probably lost in the recent move that I had. So I would seek
another solution or alternate way to reformat without use of the disks and a
way to find my cd key on my system. Although I'm hoping that it will not come
down to this case.

Help on this subject would be GREATLY appeciated.

If any additional information is needed let me know. (like dxdiag or
whatever could help)

Little update, it now restarts unexpectedly anytime regardless of what I am
doing.

Also there seems to be a bit of a smell coming from the tower unit.

COuld this all be a simple overheating problem?

Also, my temp check was going at 60 C ish and the fans are going.

I'm pretty lost now.
