Restart Loop after adding Hardhare

I bought a barbone case and P4 processor and then
installed my old hard drive with windowsXP already on it.
Now when it boots up and says something is wrong and asks
if I want safe mode, normal, or last config. Either
choice looks like it about to start up but then flashes a
blue screen that I can't read fast enough and restarts.
HELP!!

Do a repair install
