Restart causes invalid disk

R

Rolfie

When restarting Windows XP SP2 it works OK during the post operation and
identifying
the harddisks etc until it starts booting up Windows. Then I get an error
message - Invalid system disk.
Replace the disk and then press any key.

But when I'am shutting off the computer completly and the power it up it
again, it boots up with no
problems and behaves very normal.

I've noticed that it takes much longer time for the post and harddisk
identifying procedure
when the system is restarted from windows vs powering it up when it has shut
off.

OS Windows XP SP2
MB Intel D915PGN
Bios CY91510A.86A.0012
Pentium P4 3.4 GHz
2 Samsung SATA HD 250 GB

What to do?

TIA

Hi,

Download a drive integrity checker from the hard drive manufacturer. Use it
to check the state of the drive as there may be a problem.
