Resources Removed From Network Still Display In My Network Places

W

Wesley Burchfield

SYMPTOMS
Shares that are no longer available on the network may be
displayed in My Network Places. When a computer that
shares a resource is removed from the network, the entries
in My Network Places may remain.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the operating system has
an "age out" period for these resources. The age out
period is 48 hours. After 48 hours, the share is not
displayed in My Network Places.

How do you change the "age out" settings?

Wesley,

sorry, I don't know. But I observe much longer periods of time
here until the folders eventually disappear. Something around
two weeks, if ever.
