Resolution/Display problem/situation

I have an NEC MultiSync LCD1700M+. I also have the
Radeon DDR 64 VIVO. I run them on Windows XP Pro.
Up until lately, when I booted my PC, all my video
was at full screen, no matter what the resolution.
A couple of months, when it boots, the screen is a
very small window at the center of the screen. The
resident resolution of the monitor is 1280 X 1024.
When the small screens pop up, the monitor
displays a message "NON PRESET MODE"
I know why the message pops up. It's because the
boot screens are displaying 640x480 and not 1280 x
1024. My problem with this is because I want it to
boot at full screen like it use to.

Also, if I go into settings and reset anything
lower that 1280 x 1024, the screen size drops to a
smaller window of the associated resolution.

I have searched and looked for a fix for this
problem. Do any of you have any ideas on how to
solve this?

Thanks
Ruben

How is the monitor described in the display properties? A NEC multiSync on a
Radeon 64 VIVO? If its is a default or default PNP then the refresh rate
may not be set properly.
