resizing vertical format images into power point

I would like to resize my vertical images for use in a powerpoint
presentation, and don't know how to do it or what is the optimum size and
resolution for this.
 
Generally speaking, make them 768 pixels tall by however wide they end up
while still maintaining proportion.
