Resizer Powertoy

The resizer Powertoy that I use so well in work, does not work on my home XP
Pro SP2 PC. It installs normally, you get the program but when you hit OK,
nothing is created.

Not going into different folder either, did a search. Did reinstall, reboot,
etc. and deactivated antivirus and anti-malware.

Anybody have an idea why this has happened, workarounds and/or other programs?

I haven't seen this previously
reported so I have no specific
fix for it.

Is it possible that you selected:
"Resize the original pictures"?

Maybe the following would help:

Go to...Start / Run and type
(or copy/paste):

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

A dialog box should report the following:

"DllRegisterServer in SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded"

==

It's also possible that doing some
maintenance could improve the issue:

Running Disk Cleanup, Error Checking and
Defrag on a regular schedule is a good idea.

(check the two boxes..."Automatically fix file
system errors" and "Scan for and attempt
recovery of bad sectors") the utility will run
the next time you restart your computer.
(run error checking repeatedly until it finds
no errors)

As for other programs...IrfanView and
FastStone Image Viewer are great
but not as quick and easy for resizing
as the ImageResizer PowerToy.

(get the plug-ins too)

I have just been sent a link to this resize tool, but I had the same problem
when trying to use it.

I logged onto this discussion board to write a "help me" and saw this
thread...

Can I say a massive thankyou to John Inzer as well, this tip has also worked
for me too.

Thanks John

Cheers
