Resetting to default ACLs

Is there a way to reset the ACLs to the default install settings? I've
changed the permissions enough that I'd like to go back to the original
install permissions, I just don't know if I can do it without reinstalling
the OS.

Assuming your talking about AD ACLs, you can use the DSACLS tool from the
Support Tools to reset them to the schema defaults. Look at the /S and
/T options. Be really sure you want to do it before you run the command
and have a cuurrent System State backup in case something goes bad.

Secedit command will also work, and the commands are shown in the following
