Resetting RevNum field - not working?

I inserted the RevNum field into a document's footer, and would like to
return the count to "1".

When I close the file and right-click and select Properties from within
Windows, I am able to change the "Revision Number" on the Summary tab to 1.
However, my RevNum field ignores this change, and now my Summary properties
no longer track the revision number at all.

Any suggestions? Thanks for the help!

Hi JAnderson,

For clarification, the REVNUM and DOCPROPERTY "RevisionNumber" fields both refer to the number of times the document has been
saved - not the 'Version #' set via File|Versions.

To reset the REVNUM value to '2' (the minimum possible for a previously-saved document), simply save the document using File|Save
As. If you really need to get back to '1', copy the whole document and paste it into a new one, then save that.

Cheers

Sometimes the simplest things work perfectly- Save As does the trick here.
Thanks!
