Reset record selector without closing form

Is their a way to save and then delete the form recordset so that the record
selector starts at 1 when starting a new batch defined by the user in effect
the record selector is acting as a counter. When the "counter" reaches "x"
the user clicks on a cmd button to reset the batch id and the record
selector i.e. batch count.

Thanks...there is a reason for this, keep working batches small as part of
QA check in the data entry, keeping the batches small makes paper searches
easier.
