Reset of Print Margins

Hello. I am using Access 2000 with a database with about 5 users.
Unfortunately they have different printers.

Problem is, when I change the margins in "Page Setup" to the desired values,
they will later automatically reset to some default values, creating printing
problems.

I have switched off "Track Name Auto Correct" and SR-1 is installed. The
"automatic" reset of the margins still happens.

Any ideas? Something tells me the solution would be some code to specify
margins directly, but I am only a novice at using code. Thank you.

With the report open in design view, click file and then page set up. Set
your margins to the required values. When you then close your report you will
be prompted to save. These margins will then be saved with the report.
Repeat this for each report.

Wish it were that easy. I did exactly what you said. I then went to print
preview and the margins reverted to the inappropriate settings. This fix did
not produce the desired results.

Appreciate your response. Any other thoughts?

Make sure your reports are using the default printer. The default printer can
vary from computer to computer. If you set the report to use a specific
printer and that specific printer is not available, your margins may well
reset to the default value settings.

If you are using the default printer when the reports are set up/saved then
margins should only reset if the default printer of the other computer cannot
support the margins you have set.

I generally have margins that are set to .5 inch or larger. Almost all
printers will support those margins. Some printers require a larger bottom
margin for paper handling.

There are three Service Packs for Access 2000, and there is a reason there
are three -- they were needed to correct errors. If I recall correctly,
there were fixes for some printer problems in SP2 and/or SP3 that were
similar to what you are experiencing. If this is your own database, I
strongly recommend you obtain and load SP2 and SP3; if it is your employer's
or your client's database, I strongly recommend you urge the people who
maintain their software to do so.
