Alright for lack of better term... it's a shoddy way to use it.

Knowing, then, it can be done and you don't want it done then you have
to do something to prevent it from being done.

Remember the person who used a Unicode column, when they had no need
for a Unicode column, and ended up with an entire Buddhist sutra in
Chinese in the column. "Build it and they will come."
