Required from fields

I have a from created in FP2000 and want to make the first field (on the page
and in the tab order) a compulsory field.

I have set the Validation propery to Required and also stipulated a minimum
size of 2 characters but whatever I do it is still possible to 'Submit' the
form with no entry in the field.

Ideally I want to prevent users progressing to the subsequent fields unless
thay have completed the first one.

Yes, Javascript is turned on. You have gathered that I meant to type 'form',
not 'from'!

The field has the validation webbot, but the FP generated JavaScript for validation is missing
- did you use any optimization on the page in saving or publishing

Not applicable
(even though your settings are fine - but set your browsers/versions/ to IE 5+)

If using FP 2003 Check Tools Optimize (unselect all boxes)

| Stefan, I am not aware of any optimisation but I hav posted a screen shot of

|
| How else can I check whether optimization has been applied without my
| intervention?

| Thanks for your input
