Yeah, that would be nice, in the mean time, having AutoUpdate turned on is a
good way to go.

Sorry, I'm an idiot. I meant the system tray icon, not
the taskbar minimized app, of course. Thanks.

I do have AutoUpdate turned on, but I'm rather compulsive
about updating. Thus, many times I manually check for
updates and find new definitions available that AutoUpdate
hasn't yet retrieved. I feel better with the latest up-to-
the-hour updates, not last night's. Thanks.

On a related note and just being picky, wouldn't it be logical to move the
"Check for updates" from the File menu to the Help menu, as it is in most
apps such as Office?

The current beta's UI is the product of a third-party development team.

I'm expecting that beta2 will adhere to Microsoft standards, accessibility
standards, and probably dozens of standards I am not aware of and can't name
accurately!

Personally, I'm in favor of update processes which are as invisible as
possible--set it and forget it, but let it pop a balloon every so often to
tell you it is up to date. We'll see what they do.
