requery problem

Hi,
I have a form and a subform . What I am trying to do is , when the subform does not have any linked data with the form , I want to show all the records in the subform. Ex : The main form shows departments, and the subform show the employees in the department. But lets say for department 40 there is no employee , so the subform is blank. Instead of showing a blank subform, My requirement is to show all the employees of all the departments in the subform . , I tried to requery the subform (wirting the code in the CURRENT even of the main form), but it does not work . Anyidea ? Please Help.

Your description is contradictory. Try again.

when the subform does not have any linked data with the form , I want to

A subform linked to a main form shows the records associated with the
selection on the main form. No selection, no subform items.

Perhaps if you described the "problem" you are trying to solve, rather than
the solution you have selected, the 'group may be able to offer alternate
approaches.
