REQ: Pausable Scanning & CPU Priority

Windows Defender Beta 2 uses up far too much CPU power during scans.
The entire system becomes slow and unresponsive during a long scan.

I would like to see a way to Pause and Resume the scans.

I would also like to see options for CPU Priority, so the scan can run and
still allow you to do other tasks with relative speed.

If you read the help, you'll note that Microsoft recommends quick scans,
routinely, and full scans when something is detected. Full scans are quite
resource intensive. However, they shouldn't be as bad as you are
experiencing. Are there other real-time scanners operating at the same
time?

Even the quick scans are resource intensive.
I don't have any other real-time scanners installed, aside from AntiVirus
which isn't causing the problem.

MS wants to make Windows Defender less intrusive, and more transparent to
the user. So there's no reason Windows Defender shouldn't have pausable
scanning, and CPU priority options, and I am officially requesting this be
added.

Microsoft reads these groups--so posting here is the way to make that
request.

If you pause real-time scanning in the antivirus, is the CPU usage by
Windows Defender still apparently excessive?

Thanks -- I've seen a couple of reports that seemed to indicate that there
was some interaction between particular antivirus scanners and Windows
Defender, and I wanted to try to eliminate that possiblity.
