REQ: assistance & manual for Lexmark Optra S 1855

I was recently given a Lexmark Optra S 1855 laser printer with the
duplexer. The printer works fine. I'm unable to get the duplexer to
work or be recognized by the printer.

I did the normal search on Lexmark's site for the manuals, however,
they don't seem to have them online.

I did find one site with the operation manual on line, however, it is
not east to use as each page is a separate view.

I also found a site that was supposed to have the service manual. When
I downloaded it, all that I got was part4 of a RAR set. The file name
was as follows:

LEXMARK_-__OPTRA_S_1250-1255-1620-1625-1650-1855-2420-2450-2455-3455

Could someone please post the other parts. Also, any help getting the
duplexer working would be greatly appreciated.

Sure the duplexer module is pushed all the way to click in place and
close the sensing switch. Or you assembled it incorrectly.

Found the following in under a minute:

http://www.lexmark.com/publications/eng/optras/index.html

Alas, the .pdf file for their online User Guide is broken for retrieving
it inline with the web browser. If you cannot read it, right-click on
the PDF link to the manual, download it, and then open it. Installing
the duplex tray starts on page 273.

Thanks a bunch. I guess that I was looking a bit too far down in the
list. i.e. for the 1855 model.... should have stopped at the group
name rather than go down to the model number.

Now I can start the diagnosis process.

Just to let you know I got the system working. It wasn't the
connection to the duplexer. It was that I wasn't pressing "select"
after setting duplexer to "on".
Also, after looking at the manual, I was able to go to the junk box
and rescue a couple of 32 meg RAM modules and installed them. Works!
The only other thing I would like to do is set the driver software to
use PostScript Level 2 rather than default to Level 3.
Thanks for your help.
