Repository problem

Hi,
I created a little test app that I want to add to my test
xpe image (We are still in the test-XPe-fase).
So, I started a new sld file, added a new component (with
file and dependency for vb6 runtime lib), added a new
(temp) repository to the sld file, created a new folder in
my rep folder, and set the sourcepath of the new
repository to that folder.
Importing the sld file into the DB didn't work, so I added
the file to the folder, checked comp and rep settings, and
tried again.
The error I get is "cannot delete rep files in target
folder". I checked the folder and have full acces to it
(both tools and DB are on my PC).
In doing, I noticed that there is a new empty (GUID)folder
in my rep-root folder, so I set the sourcepath to that
folder which had the same result.
....
What did I do wrong?
or, more general, how do you create a new repository?

Hey Maarten

To create a new repository, you must create a component
for your app. Put alle files you need in the component.
This is the way i did it.

good luck

Hi,

you're almost right but perhaps have you forget to set the repository
setting of your component
to your custom repository (details pane of component)
the default is "unknown repository" so you have to change it !
then add in your component the files you put in your repository folder

import your sld file and you have to notice that a new NON empty GUID folder
will be created in you rep-root folder.

you're welcome.

Thanks
I had done that, but probably in the wrong order.
I did it again and it works fine now (the image runs with
my test app in startup).
But there are 2 repository folders now, the one that I
created, and the GUID that CDM created. Does the GUID rely
on the folder that I created? IOW, can I remove, rename my
own folder/files, without affecting the GUID? (There might
be some disadvantages, but it can be usefull to know :))
