Reports: Live vs. Disk-Based

Using FP 2003, I find that Reports for a given site depend on whether I open
the disk-based web, or the server-based web. I am not referring to FP
components that must be published to work. I have recalculated hyperlinks
on both webs, synchronized the webs, published "fresh" to an empty server,
etc., but still get different Reports results.

For example, my disk-based web reports 41 DWT's using various dynamic web
templates. When I open the same web live, Reports shows zero DWT's. Also
Reports shows varying results with broken links. Once again, I am ignoring
FP components that only work when published to the server.

This is a well-known and remarkably bug-like feature.
Because the FP2002 server extensions predate FP2003, they
know nothing about DWTs, and don't cross-reference them.

Keep this in mind when changing a DWT template. You *must*
change the template in a disk-based or WSS site, and then
publish that site to your FP2002-extended server.

Updating a DWT template directly on a FP2002-extended Web
server won't propagate changes to pages that use that
template.
Also Reports shows varying results with broken links.
Once again, I am ignoring FP components that only work
when published to the server.

You would have to provide more detail about what kind of
links appear broken on only one site, and which site that
is.

For example, a link pointing outside your Web site might
only work on your live server, because the outside
location isn't present in your test environment.
