Report wizard stopped working in Access 2003

I have been running Access 2003 Pro under Windows XP SP3 for some time when
the report wizard stopped working. Initially it created a 'cannot create
object error' but after doing a full reinstall of Office 2003 it now fails to
start at all. Whilst this is not a show stopper I am curious to understand
how this could happen. Any suggestions gratefully received.
 
Can you create any reports? Can you run or modify reports? If "no", you might
want to make sure you have designated a default printer in the Windows
Control Panel.
