Let me try to describe this.....We have a report that sorts by Department
then by Employee Name. There is one employee per page. The Dept Name is in
a header. The employee name is in a header. We print sales detail for the
employee as well as a total footer for the employee.

I was asked if (off to the right) I could list the other employee names in
the department. I created a subreport that simply shows Depart and Employee
name and stuck it on my report. I set the Master/Child Links as well. So
now you see a department and and emplyee and his/her sales information on the
page. If you look way tot the right you also see the other employee names in
the department. The trouble is that if I have 25 employee in the department
it sucks up all the white space to the left before printing the employees
details. Is there a way to tell Access to crunch the space together...I will
try to illustrate below...

***WHAT I WANT****

Dept: Electronics
Electronics Emps

John Smith
Employee: John Smith
Jerry Jones

Martha Potter
Sales: 75,000
Donna Mombo
Commission: 7500
Billy Buggs
Work Days 30
Matty Mathews
FMG $ 687

I see the example did not POST as it was PREVIEWED...sorry. Essentially I
need the subreport (which is in the Department Header) to print down thru
the whitespace in the Employee Name header and detail section...right now
subsequent headers do not start until the last employe name prints. I am
sorry if this is not clear.....

I think you need to work on the sort order and header set up of your report.
It looks like you need to create a sort and header for the name with the
detail information below the header.

My solution appears to be going in the direction of having multiple columns
