Report Margins/Layout

Hello:

I'm relatively new to Access 2003 and need a little help. I designed a
report on a flat file table with a simple grouping by Year. The results are
exactly what I want, however, I don't have access to the right half of the
report layout. For example, only the left half of the Report Title shows up
in Print Preview, even though there's plenty of room and the entire title has
plenty of room on both sides of the report.

I checked the Page Setup and everything seems to be OK, it's set for
Portrait, the Margins are 1 inch, and all other settings seem to be routine.
Where can I look to correct this problem? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
RT

What do you mean by "both sides of the report". I think there might be a
significant misconception here but I can't put my finger on it.

How wide is your report? What size paper is your report/printer set to? Are
you controls wide enough to display your text?

Hi Duane:

It is a very basic report grouped on the YEAR[Date_Exer] and the only field
located near the left margin is the type of exercise. Both the grouping by
year and the type of exercise totals for each year are perfect.

The page is set to Portrait / Letter Size. The report has a width of 10.5
inches and the title, "Type of Exercise Totaled by Year", is centered in the
Report Header. I can see the entire title in the center of the Report Header
when I'm in Design Mode. However, when I click on Print Preview, I only see
the left portion of the title as in:

Note:
I tried adding columns and Access tells me there isn't enough horizontal
space. That's bizarre because there's only one field in the detail section,
located near the left margin. There's tons of room to add a new column. I
went into Page Setup and put the Column setting back to 1.

Your report is too wide to display Portrait. If you are printing on letter
size, the Left Margin + Report Width + Right Margin must be 8.5" or less.

Hello Duane:

Thanks for the tips on the margin settings. Just for your information, I
created a brand new report using the same exact query and I can see
everything on the report. In other words, the problem I described earlier is
unique to that one report and it has nothing to do with the query.

As I suggested, the issue was probably with your report width and margins
and had nothingg to do with the query.
