Report margins and page orientation

hi.
i'm running two Access 2000 databases on Windows 2000 PCs.
the first is a single user database running from C:\. the
second is a multi-user database with backend tables on the
server and frontend on each user's C:\ drive. both of
these dbs have reports available to the user.

my problem: the report margins sometimes reset themselves
to the system default, when the report is previewed or
printed. also landscape orientation sometimes resets to
portrait. this does not happen every time a report is
opened, sometimes a report can be opened several times
with the correct margins / orientation intact. but once
the margins do reset, they never change BACK spontaneously
(of course), so i have to open the report's Page Setup and
reset them manually.

BTW, both databases are also run in Access 2000 on a
Windows 98 pc - and this problem NEVER occurs there.

i'm fair at VBA but have no other programming language
skills. can anyone help me fix this problem?

TIA
tina

Tina,
If you are using Access 2000 this is a known bug and is documented in
the Microsoft Knowledgebase article:
Q245021 'List of Fixed Problems in Microsoft Office 2000 Service
Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a)'
And specifically:
Q240826 'Lost Printer Settings when Name Autocorrect is turned on'

Turn off the Name AutoCorrect feature as a temporary 'fix'.
Then download and install the Service Release 1/1a.

i thank you, my employers (current and future) thank you,
and i'm sure so does everyone else who, like me, has the
problem but didn't have the sense to look it up in the
Knowledgebase. :) appreciate so much your time!
