Report - Grapics - Email

In reviewing past discussions I believe that to maintain graphics in a Report
when you email it that one should write to PDF or use Snapshot. Both
solutions require the recipient to have the appropriate viewer.

If you know the recipient it works - and PDF is particularly widespread.
But as you move to more random end users and very small business recipients
the more certain bet is that while they MAY have PDF capability - they will
surely have a browser.

To our MVPs; Is there any upstream input into Microsoft about the
possibility of Report maintaining graphics in the HTM format option? It
would really be great. Or is the underlying technology unfeasible?......

Microsoft is well aware of the need/desire of users for improvements in
maintaining formatting and graphics when saving reports in "other formats".
As an aside, you would have difficulty convincing Microsoft that the Access
MVPs are "naturally shy and retiring individuals" when it comes to
expressing opinions on such issues. <GRIN>

As you've probably heard, there is an optional downloadable add-in
(originally expected to be built-in) for saving Reports (and other Office
documents) in PDF format in Office 2007 -- not the exact same issue, but a
result of user needs for flexibility in saving documents. And, while I have
not carefully explored these issues, I understand there have been
improvements in formatting the text in other formats.

I have had better luck maintaining text formatting in HTML than in other
alternatives, in past versions.

PDF is very important. And it would be great if Access offered that format
as an integrated option not requiring any additional add-on.

HTML is particularly important when dealing with retail, end users - whom
are your customers (meaning of course that one can not expect/ask them to
have any sort of special software at all....) as the browser really is the
universal viewer....

If one could maintain graphics of the report (i.e. your logo) when sending
in html format it would be a super improvement....thnks
