Report Data based on two different timeframes

Hi-

Is it possible to report on two separate timeframes from
within one report? I have set up a report that I would
like to report monthly totals for each type of permit sold
(sum of each type, total revenue generated, etc.). I
would also like it to report the year to date totals for
each type of permit. My report is based on the query that
prompts the user to enter the month and I created a
subreport based on a query to display year to date totals
(all records between 1/1/04 and 1/31/04). When I preview
my report, the monthly totals come out fine, but the
yearly subreport only reports totals for one record. When
I open the subreport on it's own, it reports the correct
numbers, however.

Do I even need a subreport here? Is there an easier way to
do this?

Can anyone help? Thanks!

Yes, since there are two distinct sets of data, I believe
you do need to use a subreport.

The fact that the subreport seems to work fine on its own
leads me to think the problem may be in the Link
Master/Child properties of the subreport control on the main
report. From what you've described, I suspect that these
properties should be blank.
