Report a given number in days:hours:minutes ?

Hi all !

First of all, this forum looks great ! Google ftw !

I'm having an EXCEL problem... I can't figure it out, but I'm sure the
program is powerful enought to do that...

I'm calculating how long a particular task will take to do, and the
result is reported in number of minutes. I was wondering if a function
existed to report the answer in days:hours:minutes

If you have a start date/time and an end date/time in separate cells, then
just subtract one from the other. The result can be formatted as d "days"
hh:mm, but only works upto 31 days.

Assuming you have minute in decimal format like 11518 minutes

just divide by 1440 and then use a custom format of d hh:mm
the above will return 7 days 23 hours and 58 minutes

with the minutes in A1

=A1/1440
