I have an idea. How about stating enough information that someone might be
able to help? Include your Outlook verison and your account type. Tell us
what DOES happen when you try to reply or forward.
I also asked for your account type. In Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next, select
your account, click Change, then click the Test button. What happens? Give
the exact text of any errors you see.
In your POP account settings (the More Settings button), there is an
Advanced tab. Select that tab and examine the SMTP (outgoing server)
settings, particularly the port number. Open a command prompt window and
enter
telnet youroutgoingserver port
where "youroutgoingserver" is your SMTP server name and "port" is the port
number from the Advanced tab. You should see something like:
220 youroutlookserver ESMTP server ready at Mon, 12 Jan 2009 10:16:48 -0500
as a response. Do you?
