After sending the first message about a virus, I recieved it again.
Each time I post a message in a newsgroup I am getting a virus. Why would
that be?

Because one of the places SWEN.A harvests email addresses from is
newsgroup posting (and, for a first, it actually looks at the 'reply to'
address as well as the 'from' address). Note 'SWEN' = 'News' backwards,
and that isn't an accident. 8<,

Therefore do not, repeat, DO NOT, use your real email address on Newsgroups.
Create a fake one via Tools>Accounts...>News tab>Properties>General tab.
This does NOT affect your ability to receive email; that's under Mail.

You might want to consider concealing your e-mail address so that doesn't
happen anymore. Just take a look at mine and others out there. With mine,
anyone that wants reply can see the obvious things that need to be removed
from it in order to make it my actual valid e-mail address. With doing
this, you're less likely to be spammed on the address you use.

were a direct result of my fingers and brain not being synchronized or my

Natalie, the pleasure of receiving a personal email response no longer
justifies the risk of being bombarded by the latest virus, unfortunately.
Make it a rule to NEVER put your email address on an MS forum, unless it is
created for temporary use only and can be changed at will.
Many ISP's let you have multiple emails and change them whenever you wish.
Don't let the spammers keep you from using this forum. It's too valuable a
resource.

Because you use your valid address to setup OE, and email addresses are
harvested from public newsgroups among other sources.
