Repair probably will/would be a waste of time, page fault & youre error codes
lie to a driver problem. This can be checked by useing "Driver Verifier"
software
already on youre pc...To use VERIFIER,read kb244617
If low disk space does exist, get a larger hard drive, also, mcafee software can
run ok,but its really junk.....

Hello all! I have encountered a problem with my computer and really need help
fixing it.

My computer crashed recently while i was surfing, I can't think of anything
else that might be vital than it recently told me I was running out of space
on C:, and I was run an Antivirus Scan with McAfee.

It now gives me a blue screen and the error messege:
STOP: 0x00000050 (0xc1080212, 0x00000000, 0x80576D44, 0x00000000)
Page Fault Error - thingie.

I've read enough to think that the important is the 0x0000050 part, and the
following is just different depending on your computer, correct? Or is it a
specific problem that brings this?

Anyways; after reading this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329293 and
other sources it tells me to I need to get into SafeMode to fix and look
around, but when i try to do that it gives me the same error once again; the
same with trying to last config that worked.

Is there something I can do to get into Safemode except the standard F8 and
the messege that tells me "A problem accured and Windows has shut down." ?

I havent' touched anything with the Hardware, so it shouldn't be that. I'm
not sure what this is, hopefully someone here can help? It'd be so
appriciated!

Thanks in advance!

Andrew suggested using a verifier to check the drivers, but I can not see
how I will be able to do that. The blue screen remains even if I try to put
in the XP disk to try a repair that Mark L. Ferguson suggested. I might be
doing it wrong but I'm guessing from reading the suggested KB244617 from
Andrew that I need to be in Safe Mode to try this, but attempting to get to
the safemode results in the same error.

-If- I am doing this wrong and some kind soul can give me a hint, and this
error (Page fault) is the blame, it is possible to resolve it from home - so
to speak?

Thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience.

STOP: 0x00000050 (0xc1080212, 0x00000000, 0x80576D44, 0x00000000)

Is there any file referred to on the line below? If yes please post the
details.

Background information on Stop Error message
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms793437.aspx

Whilst using Driver Verifier is one way to find out what driver is
involved you need to be an expert to interpret the results. It also puts
a lot of strain on the operating system which, given your limited disk
space, means running it may not work.

Do you have data on the computer you need to recover? Do you have access
to another computer you might insert the hard drive into as a slave
drive. That would be one way you might recover the data files.

What is your computer make and model?

What is your Windows XP CD as it is described on the face of the CD?

Hope this helps.

Thanks for helping Gerry!

There is unfortunatly no file refered to among with the error messege, just
it.

Just incase; this is my computer:
From Dell.
Pentium D 950 Dual Core Desktop, 2 GB ( 4x512 ) NECC Dual Channel DDR2 533
MHz SDRAM Memory, 3.4 GHz 2x2MB L2 cache, 800 MHz FSB, 320 GB SATA 3.0
Gb/s with native command queuing.
*Note, the lack of memory was on C: , there is still something like 260GB on
D:drive; but that's my bad.

The face of the Windows XP CD says, "Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition,
Includes Service Pack 2, version 2002 ( 2004 Microsft Corp... etc )

I do (of course. :] ) have things I need to recover from my hardrive, and I
have access to another computer. I'm unfamiliar what you mean by slave drive,
do you mean plug that into my other computer while it's current is still
there, or remove/replace. I'm unsure if the computer has room for 2, perhaps
all have. If I can get it plugged in though, wont the same error accur on my
other computer as well, or is this fault not related to the hardrive so the
information I have on it is safe?

I'm very glad for any help I can get, thank you!

Erik.
