This problem started about a week ago. When I would hit
the reply or forward button, the corresponding window
takes about 30s to load. This started on my old laptop,
I bought a new one and figured the problem would
disappear. It hasn't. At this moment I'm thinking the
problem is due to my large personal folder file (500MB).
Could this contribute to the sluggish operation? How
can I fix it?

You didn't give us your version of Outlook, but if Outlook 2002 or 2003,
turn off Instant Messaging.
