Hi,

My coworker is having some problems with Outlook 2003. She
is sending an email to a contact at a bellsouth.net email
address. But when that contact replys, my coworker gets a
new message, but the message contains her original
message, as if the @bellsouth.net person had sent it. IT
works fine on my boss's computer though, and it's only
this one person. Any ideas?

Normally the original message is included in a reply. If your coworker
doesn't want a copy of her original message in a reply to it then have that
coworker request the recipient(s) of her e-mails to not include her original
message in their replies. The sender has the control over whether or not
the original message is included in a reply or not.

Thanks for your reply.

The thing is, the contact IS sending a reply and adding
her own text. But for some reason it is not being included
when my coworker receives the email. All she gets is her
original message, without any of the >> things at the
start of the line either.

But when the contact sends it to my boss, on the same
network, the whole reply is there.

Does she use any anti-spam software? Any anti-virus software? Tried
disabling them temporarily?

Is she using a custom view or a default one? Maybe the view has been
customized so she need to revert to using a standard one.

Any rules?

Is she and her boss using the same POP3 or Exchange server, or different
mail servers to receive incoming e-mails?

Is she and her boss both using OL2003, or is one using OL2003 and the other
using OL2002 or earlier?

When the contact sends their e-mail reply to her message, is the contact
sending their reply to *both* her and her boss? Or is the contact composing
separate replies? Only if the contact is listing both her and her boss as
multiple recipients of the same message can you guarantee the contact is
actually formatting their reply the same for both recipients.

I'm getting exactly the same problem. I have tracked it down to
e-mails which are being sent to Lotus Notes users. I normally
use HTML but if I switch to plain text the problem goes away

Both my boss and her are using Outlook 2003 using the
default view. When the contact sends the email, she's
sending it seperatly to her and to my boss (as a test
because my coworker wasn't seeing the reply).

I'll try "openworld news"'s reply with the Lotus Notes
stuff. I also looked in The Knowledge Base and saw an
article sort of relating to this. It recommended changing
all mail sent to that contact to rich text, instead of
Outlook deciding automatically.

Thanks for your help guys.
