Replies/Forwards are rendered as Rich Text instead of HTML -Outlook 2003

When I reply or forward certain messages, Outlook uses Rich Text as the
format, instead of HTML.

If I de-select Word as the mail editor, I don¹t even have the option to
format messages in HTML why is that??

Basically, I want EVERYTHING replies, forwards, etc to be rendered in
HTML. Doesn¹t Outlook have that ability?

Outlook defaults to replying in the same format as the original message. Go
to Plain Text then you can choose to use HTML format. For some reason you
can't go straight from one to the other

But... you really should reply to someone in a format that they didn't send
to you since they either may not like the format or be able to use it.

Well...that¹s part of my puzzlement. Messages that are being rendered as
HTML on one mail client are not being rendered as HTML in Outlook. These are
all people on the same mail system.

I like the option Microsoft Entourage for the Mac provides you you can
reply in sender¹s format or always reply in a preferred format.

At least, if it is not going to have my replies in HTML, Outlook should
allow me to view the messages in my own fonts...
