Replacing Hard Drive

Have a couple of questions for the anyone in the group. Found out I had a
bad spot on my hard drive that would not allow me to boot up. Had that
fixed, but was told when you get a bad spot, u will begin to had problems
with the hard drive. Well now I want to replace my 80GB with a 120GB
Western Digital HD. First question:
Does the new HD come with software that will allow me to copy everything on
my "old" HD to the "new" HD to make it my bootable HD? And once I install
my new HD, should I take the old HD out or can it be used for extra storage,
even though it had that bad spot on it? Thanks in advance.

Hello

Yes most haddrives come with software that will allow you
to do that, also you can use Norton's Ghost, Also you can
use the old drive as a backup if you like too. Most important
thing to remember backup your data before doing anything
just a safe way to go

If it was my 80 gb disk, that's developed a bad spot, I would toss it and I
sure wouldn't use it for backup. Disks are so cheap these days it's just
not worth the risk. The last drive I purchased was a WD 120gb and I got it
for $60 from Staples after rebates, that's cheap.
