Hi everybody,

is there any easy way to replace an image by another in a PowerPoint
slide. I've got several images with trajectories and I don't want to
lose the trajectories and the corresponding animations just because I
want to replace the image by another.

Thanks in advance,

S.

You could try aving the presentation as a web page. You will get a folder of
files and an html document . Replace the image file in the folder with the
new image but use the same name. Open the html file in ppt

Thanks, they are very useful suggestions. However, I think I cannot use
autoshapes as I would need them to be transparent (or with the
background color). However, it seems that if I fill an autoshape with
an image it always gets a white background even when the image is a
transparent gif...

On the other hand, maybe there is a way of inserting images as links to
the corresponding files which would make things easier... However, I
didn't find how to do this.

S,
Have you tried, Insert - picture - from file - click on the little arrow
next to the insert button and choose to link to the file.

Dont think you understood my suggestion above. Try it again as it will work!
Save as html, search out the image will will be called someting like slide1 -
image2.jpg

Put the new jpg in the folder delete the original and rename the new jpg to
whatever the original was called. When you open this html only the image will
have changed and animations are preserved.
