Replacement for Snapshot Viewer with Access 2007

Since Microsoft removed this Viewer (I DO know you can still download a
version that will work with Access 2007), what is their recommended
replacement? Is there a statement from them on this? Was it removed due to
Security concerns?

Am facing a firestorm at my site over not having this on new computers (with
Office 2007), so, needed some justification and suggested replacement.

Could be due to this, but I'm not really sure:

I would think the "recommended replacement' would be to either download the 2007 viewer, as you mention, or use PDF.
There's a PDF addin available for 2007:
