Replaced NTLDR

J

Jasper Recto

I received a ' NTLDR is missing' error message when I tried to start my
computer. The partition is FAT32. Following the Microsoft knowledge base
proceed, I created a NT boot disk, booted to that floppy and replaced the
NTLDR, NTDETECT.COM and BOOT.INI files. Know when I reboot, I get a
"Invalid Boot Diskette -- insert boot diskette in A drive:'. Why is it not
trying to boot to the system files on the C: drive? Why is it looking for
it on the A drive? How do I fix this?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you recently change or add hard drives? Sounds like it could be the
result of incorrect jumper settings.

Hope this helps,
